DT Economics Managing Partner acts as PSR Settlement Decision Maker in Barclays fining

DT Economics Managing Partner David Thomas, acting as a Settlement Decision Maker for the Payment Systems Regulator, has issued a Decision Notice fining Barclays £8.4 million for failing to provide full information on the cost of card services to retailers under the Interchange Fee Regulation.

This is the second enforcement action taken against a UK bank by the PSR on interchange fee compliance, following the £1.82 million fine issued to NatWest Group banks in 2022. Further details are available on the PSR's website here.
