DT Economics is pleased to have met with the Small National Regulatory Forum (SNRF) at the Annual Conference of the International Institute of Communications (IIC) in Cologne last month. As part of this, the IIC, in collaboration with DT Economics, launched a pro bono cross-country project on regulatory effectiveness in small nations.
As a first step, DT Economics will be supporting the IIC and its SNRF members in a survey focused on several key institutional factors that underpin the effectiveness of economic regulation in small nations. This survey will help in understanding what best practice looks like across a wide spectrum of regulators who have responsibility for telecommunications in these countries. DT Economics will then analyse the data from the survey, engage in bilateral discussions with the various participants and present findings from the study at the next IIC Annual Conference in the fall. We hope this will ultimately assist the SNRF members in deciding what changes may be required to become more effective regulators in their various jurisdictions.
We look forward to continuing these discussions and connecting with participants. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about the project.
