Sean Kennedy presents DT Economics approach to Qatar's telecoms competition review

Sean Kennedy, DT Economics Partner and Chief Operating Officer, presented at the Communications and Regulatory Authority (CRA) workshop in Doha in October 2024 to kick off the review of Qatar's ICT Competition Framework.

Sean set out DT Economics' approach to the review alongside. The review will draw on international best practice in telecoms market assessment and competition analysis, and will be aligned with the CRA's broader strategic objectives for the sector.

Commenting on the event, Sean Kennedy said that “The MDDD review will be focused on reviewing and updating the previous MDDD analysis (last done in 2016) with the latest regulatory and competition analysis on ex-ante market reviews. In particular, we will be looking to incorporate international leading practice on market reviews along with aligning our economic analysis with the broader strategic objectives of the CRA and the State of Qatar.
