Jonathan is a consultant and chartered engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the telecoms sector. He is associated with DT Economics and has worked with a variety of clients in 20+ countries across four continents, focusing particularly on regulation and costing, but also covering corporate strategy, new ventures, business planning and technology. Clients have included telecoms operators, media companies, utilities, manufacturers, financial institutions and government organisations.
Jonathan is regarded as an expert in the area of regulatory costing, and has significant experience gained from assignments in many countries in the areas of LRAIC modelling, accounting separation, incremental costing, wholesale and retail pricing, and margin squeeze analysis. His experience encompasses both fixed and mobile operators, new entrants as well as incumbent operators. Jonathan’s engineering and technology background combined with business experience enables him to analyse and model telecoms network businesses in depth, and his work has included modelling of next-generation fixed and mobile technologies as well as complex business structures.
Prior to consultancy, Jonathan worked for British Telecom where he spent nine years, established a track record in successful management/leadership of development teams, and gained a comprehensive understanding of existing and emerging technologies.
